Inadequate management, lack of training and poor communication have all been identified by the Health and Safety Commission as contributory factors in outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease.

Amphibia provide a range of training programmes for clients with responsibility for legionella control.

Under the requirements of the current Health & Safety Commissions ACOP (L8) for the control of legionella bacteria in water systems:

those who are appointed to carry out the control measures and strategies should be suitably informed, instructed and trained to a standard which ensures that tasks are carried out in a safe, technically competent manner”.

Regular refresher training should be given and records of all initial and refresher training need to be maintained”.

Amphibia’s ‘one day’ ACOP (L8) courses include the following agenda:

An introduction to legionella bacteria.

How water systems become contaminated.

Strategies for avoiding contamination.

The legislation and regulations - how to comply.

The role of the ‘Duty Holder’ and your company's ‘Appointed Responsible Person’.

Penalties for non-compliance.

Written assessment.

Each delegate is provided with a certificate of achievement on completion of the written assessment.

Courses can either be provided at your place of work or at one of our training centres.

Amphibia also provide other training courses for those who are responsible for carrying out specific tasks on site and managing water and air system hygiene.

By working with you, our training Team can even develop a unique training programme for your company which will be as unique as you are.
